What it means to solo mine Bitcoin

A Bitcoin solo mining pool coordinates the work of finding a block, but the reward is not shared. When your hardware finds the block, the Bitcoin network pays the reward (minus the 2% pool fee) straight to your wallet address. There is no pool wallet holding your BTC, no payout threshold, and no withdrawal step. You mine, you win, you get paid by the network directly.

Bitcoin solo mining FAQ

Is solo mining Bitcoin profitable?

Solo mining Bitcoin is high variance: you keep the entire block reward when you find a block, but blocks are rare for small hashrate. Use the solo mining chance calculator to estimate your odds before you commit to the electricity cost.

What do I need to solo mine Bitcoin?

You need SHA-256 mining hardware, your own BTC wallet address, and a miner that speaks Stratum. Point the miner at the CWI-MKPool Bitcoin endpoint using your wallet address as the username. There is no account to create.

How much does the CWI-MKPool Bitcoin solo pool charge?

The pool fee is 2%, taken from the coinbase of blocks the pool finds to fund servers and development. Everything else in the block reward goes straight to the miner who found it. There is no withdrawal fee and no charge on your hashrate.
