Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 June 2026. In line with UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy Directive, we provide full transparency on the storage we use. How this fits our wider data handling is covered in our Privacy Policy.
1. Strictly Necessary Storage
Under the ePrivacy Directive, storage that is essential to provide a service you requested is exempt from prior consent. These items are always active and cannot be switched off:
- Theme Preferences: A functional localStorage variable (
theme) persists your choice between light and dark visual aesthetics. - Consent Preferences: A localStorage variable (
mkpool-consent) remembers the cookie choices you make below, so we don't ask again on every visit. - DDoS & Security Tokens: Technical, temporary tokens set by our CDN / DDoS shield provider (Cloudflare) to ensure platform stability, prevent malicious requests, and handle security clearances.
2. Optional Analytics Cookies
With your explicit consent, we load Google Analytics (measurement ID G-HLJ68RE0BM) to understand aggregate, anonymized traffic patterns (which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from) so we can improve the pool. IP addresses are anonymized. These cookies are off by default: nothing is loaded and no analytics cookies are set unless you opt in. We do not use advertising beacons, retargeting pixels, or third-party profiling systems.
3. Consent & Control
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, decline, or customize non-essential cookies. Analytics only loads after you accept, and the script is fetched asynchronously after the page renders so your experience is never slowed down. You can change your decision at any time:
You can also configure your browser to block all cookies and localStorage items. Please note that blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent the dark mode switcher from saving your preference or cause the consent banner to reappear each visit.
