The live CWI-MKPool prototype
CWI-MKPool is the original MKPool MiningSystem under ChainWorksIndustries ownership. We have restored the original website and are developing it live as the prototype for the future CWI Mining System. The website will continue to change as its layout, information and features are improved.
BTC SoloMining now offers Stratum V1, Stratum V1 over TLS and native Stratum V2 with Noise encryption. Each protocol has three overlapping VarDiff tiers: LowDiff, MidDiff and HiDiff. BTC SOLO remains the only enabled mining service.
The current BTC ports
Use btc.mkpool.com for every protocol. These are the current MKPool port allocations; the final CWI Mining System port scheme will be ratified separately.
| Protocol | LowDiff | MidDiff | HiDiff |
|---|
| Stratum V1 TCP | 3333 | 3337 | 3339 |
| Stratum V1 TLS | 3334 | 3335 | 3342 |
| Native Stratum V2 Noise | 3340 | 3380 | 3382 |
Three VarDiff tiers
LowDiff is intended for BitAxe and smaller home miners. MidDiff provides a higher starting point for ASICs and small to medium farms. HiDiff caters for large farms and rental connections. The ranges overlap so the tiers can accommodate different hardware and connection sizes.
| Tier | Starting difficulty | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|
| LowDiff | 1,024 | 1 | 1,000,000 |
| MidDiff | 65,536 | 1,024 | 100,000,000 |
| HiDiff | 10,000,000 | 1,000,000 | 10,000,000,000 |
The nominal VarDiff target is 18 shares per minute per connection. This is a target rather than a quota: actual rates vary with adjustment, hashrate changes and the configured limits. These are BTC difficulty values. Future coins will use the same three-tier structure with values tested for their own algorithms and miners.
Connecting your miner
For automatic VarDiff, use your own valid Bitcoin mainnet payout address as the username, optionally followed by a worker name, and x as the password. Confirm that you control the payout address before mining. An explicit difficulty password override pins difficulty within the selected tier instead of using automatic retargeting.
Existing miners can continue using port 3333. Its starting difficulty is now 1,024 and its minimum is 1. Larger ASICs may prefer MidDiff. NiceHash identification is allowed on HiDiff; rental connections should use a protocol supported by their service.
Plain V1 uses stratum+tcp://. V1 TLS uses stratum+ssl:// and requires a client that verifies the certificate for btc.mkpool.com. Native SV2 requires Noise-capable software that verifies the authority public key. Protocol support depends on the miner, firmware or translator in use.
Open the current BTC connection page for copyable URLs and the SV2 authority public key.
What has been verified
The release passed 99 difficulty-state checks, 23 controller scenarios, 38 wire-level difficulty checks and nine security checks. Eleven actual BTC regtest blocks were accepted and independently checked for the miner and operator reward allocation, including a transaction-fee case.
All nine public ports passed external connection and job checks. The TLS certificate and SV2 authority were verified, and eleven live mainnet job coinbases independently confirmed the current 2% operator and 98% miner split. These mainnet checks did not submit shares, blocks or transactions. Certificate renewal also passed a dry run.
Compatibility checks for individual mining devices and rental services will continue. These results do not establish sustained high-volume capacity or every firmware's compatibility.
Current MKPool rewards and future CWI fees
The current MKPool system retains a 2% operator fee and 98% miner reward, subject to whole-satoshi rounding. SoloMining allocates the accepted block reward to the miner who finds it; it does not provide regular shared pool payments. Coinbase maturity and chain reorganizations still apply.
For the future CWI Mining System, the agreed fee guideline is 0.3% operator / 99.7% miner for SoloMining, 0.6% / 99.4% for PoolMining PPLNS and 0.9% / 99.1% for PoolMining PROP. These are future guidelines, not the fees currently charged by MKPool. The future implementation will account for each coin's smallest units and rounding rules.
Development continues live
Anycast, additional coins and pooled mining remain future work. Every coin and mining mode will be configured and thoroughly tested before release, covering connections, work submission, payout addresses and reward allocation to the best of our ability. We aim to minimise mining and payment issues while making the development process visible.
